Many young people – inspired by climate campaigner Greta Thunberg – have taken the day off from schools and colleges across the world to protest in order to bring “an end to the age of fossil fuels and climate justice for everyone”.
These pictures are from Cardiff, where protesters marched from the city centre to The Senedd – the National Assembly for Wales – in Cardiff Bay.
