RAF Museum Cosford
Based in Shropshire, the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, is a free museum dedicated to ‘the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force in particular’.
Our purpose is to share the story of the Royal Air Force, past, present and future – using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inspire and encourage learning.

Established in 1972, and based at RAF Cosford, the museum holds over 100 exhibits ranging from a giant RAF Vickers VC 10 passenger transport plane and Lockheed ‘Hercules’ c130 to missiles, tanks and cars. A partner museum also operates in London.
The BAC TSR 2 (Tactical Strike and Reconnaissance Mach 2) aircraft is undoubted one of the stars of the show. Commissioned in the late 1950s., to deliver conventional and nuclear weapons at low altitudes and very high speeds, the aircraft was considered to be cutting edge technology at the time, but the project was cancelled because of spiralling costs in 1965.
Other visits to the RAF Museum at Cosford include two night shotts and the 2009 Cosford Air Show
Miscellany
miscellany (noun)… a group or collection of different items; a mixture.
Miscellany is a selection of photographs from the Anxious Journeys series which don’t fall into one of the main project areas. Sometimes these are individual images, sometimes they are mini-projects in their own right.
