About D-Day 75
These images are from the D-Day 75 commemorations, Portsmouth, and were taken over the weekend of 5th -9th June 2019.
As part of commemorations, on 5th June, veterans and world leaders, including Her Majesty the Queen, Prime Minister Theresa May, American President Donald Trump took part in a ceremony of remembrance on Southsea Common,
Currently, all images form an uncurated collection. At the end of the project, there will be curate a collection of images that, when considered together, best represent the project.
Main image: Giant letters that spell ‘THANK YOU’ are held up as ex-servicemen sail past on the Brittany Ferries’ MV Mont St Michel heading for Brittany.
