Dudmaston Hall is a 17th-century country house near Bridgnorth, Shropshire.
The estate is made up of a main hall, landscaped gardens, parkland, woodlands, lakeside, farmland and the estate cottages – designed by London architect John Birch in 1870 for the workers and tenants of the estate.
The Dudmaston estate has been in the hands of the Wolryche family since 1403 and Dudmaston was gifted to the National Trust in 1978 by Rachel, Lady Labouchere.
Lived in by one family through inheritance and marriage for over 875 years and never sold, Dudmaston embodies nearly a millennium of local history.
Unfortunately, at the time we visited, access was restricted to only the park lands.

Staycation is a mini Covid-19 series that features trips to local tourist attractions, often National Trust properties, that represent an alternative to holidays away – as these have been curtailed by Covid-19 restrictions.
