In 2019, Extinction Rebellion protesters gathered in Parliament Square Extinction Rebellion to call on the government to do more to tackle climate change.
Protesters accused the government of inactivity in addressing the climate change crisis and made a number of key demands. These demands included the declaration of an emergency and a commitment to work with other institutions to make changes. The group also called for the UK to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025.
Following ten days of protest across the country, protesters held a “closing ceremony” said it was time for members to “go back to their communities”.
