Anxious Journeys is a series of travel or journey based photography projects influenced by the Metaphysical art of the Italian painter Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978).
Mesarski Most is part of a selection of photographs from a trip to Slovenia in 2018.
Mesarski Most
Mesarski Most, or the Butchers’ Bridge, is a footbridge crossing the river Ljubljanica in Ljubljana. Based on an idea from the 1930s, by the architect Jože Plečnik, the bridge was opened on 10 July 2010. The design by Jurij Kobe, of the Atelier Arhitekti studio, is decorated with works by sculptor Jakov Brdar.
The bridge now has become associated with Love Locks – padlocks placed on the steel wires of the bridge by lovers – that represent their declarations of love.
