About Sunnycroft House
Sunnycroft House, Wellington, Telford, was built in 1879 and extended in 1899. It is described as a ‘Victorian suburban villa’ – a so-called ‘down sized’ version of country house for a new new class of businessmen and women.
Acquired by the National Trust 1997, Sunnycroft ‘remains intact, complete with the original interior fixtures and fittings’ and is very much a contemporary of A E Housman’s time. The driveway up to the house is flanked by a long avenue of Redwood trees too.
