Canada 2012
We visited Canada in 2012 after a short stay in London to see the 2012 Olympic Games. Flying into Calgary, we travelled west to Vancouver before sailing up the Inside Passage – the coastal route which passes through the islands on the Pacific Northwest coast of the ‘North American Fjordland’.
The Inside Passage
We sailed from Vancouver along the coastal route known as the Inside Passage – ‘a network of passages which weave through the islands on the Pacific Northwest coast of the North American Fjordland’.
To Juneau
First stop on our journey was Juneau – the capital city of the state of Alaska. Juneau is located in the Gastineau Channel on the Alaskan panhandle,
Whilst there we took a helicopter flight to the Mendenhall Glacier and visited Gold Creek Valley – between Mt Roberts and Mt Juneau.
