Canada 2012
We visited Canada in 2012 after a short stay in London to see the 2012 Olympic Games. Flying into Calgary, we travelled west to Vancouver before sailing up the Inside Passage – the coastal route which passes through the islands on the Pacific Northwest coast of the ‘North American Fjordland’.
The Inside Passage
We sailed from Vancouver along the coastal route known as the Inside Passage – ‘a network of passages which weave through the islands on the Pacific Northwest coast of the North American Fjordland’.
Ketchikan
The final leg of our journey was a call at the Alaskan port of Ketchikan, before returning to Vancouver. Named after the creek which runs through the town, Ketchikan is located on Revillagigedo Island – named in 1793 by Captain George Vancouver.
