Anxious Journeys is a series of travel or journey based photography projects influenced by the Metaphysical art of the Italian painter Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978).
These pictures represent a visit to Sorrento, Italy, in 2019 – when we stayed in a small village called Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi.
Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi
Sant’Agata is small hilltop village in the Province of Naples and about 4km from the town of Sorrento. The village owes some of its name – sui Due Golfi, or two gulfs – to its position between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno. Other places visited during this trip included Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius.
