About Doddy Marsh and the Foul Pools
Old field names can be as honest as they are illuminating and the area in Craven Arms once known as ‘Doddy Marsh and the Foul Pools’ is no exception. This popular dog walking area between the Watling Street and the old railway engine sheds has been cut through with drainage ditches, but it is still an area that is very prone to becoming waterlogged!

(All images have been made with a vintage 58mm Helios 44-2 f2 lens – coincidentally, first released around the year I was born – they were all shot ‘wide open’ at an aperture of f2 and, unusually for me, in colour)
