These images are part of the Unreturning Project and the Remembrance Series and represent an uncurated collection of images. At the end of the project, I will curate a collection of images that, when considered together, best represent the project.
Remembrance 2018
Artist Alice Briggs creates a 30 x 30 metre sand portrait at Ynyslas beach, Borth, of Richard Davies, Deck Hand, DA/9/88, Royal Naval Reserve from Borth, who served in the First World War.
The project is inspired by film-maker Danny Boyle to mark 100 years since Armistice and the end of the First World War:
”On 11 November 2018, communities will gather on beaches across the UK to say goodbye and thank you, to the millions of men and women who left their shores during the war, many never to return.”
